



The Department of Pharmacology at Sree Siddaganga College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the SSCP Alumni Association, organized a highly engaging guest lecture on 24th August 2026 at the Seminar Hall. The program was convened by Dr. Suresh V. Kulkarni, Principal, with support from Mr. Guruprasad D. N., Director, Insperel Meditech Pvt. Ltd., and coordinated by Dr. Babitha S and Dr. Vijaya Kumara S, Associate Professors.
The session featured two distinguished speakers who shared valuable insights into contemporary pharmaceutical practices.
The first lecture was delivered by Mr. Girish Ramachandran, Senior Manager, TCS, Bangalore, on the topic “Clinical Data Management in Pharmaceutical Development: Concepts & Technology.” He provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals and importance of clinical data management (CDM), explained the CDM lifecycle from case report forms to database lock, and highlighted the role of regulatory standards such as GMP- Part II, and CDISC. He also emphasized the growing influence of artificial intelligence and automation in CDM, while inspiring students by outlining career pathways and industry opportunities in this evolving domain.
The second lecture was presented by Mr. Vishwas G. S, Associate Manager, Pivot Path, Bangalore, on “Safeguarding Patients: Essentials of Pharmacovigilance.” His talk covered the fundamentals of pharmacovigilance, the ecosystem supporting patient safety, and the responsibilities of healthcare professionals in reporting and monitoring adverse drug reactions. He discussed global regulatory frameworks, illustrated concepts with case studies, and provided a forward-looking perspective on the future of pharmacovigilance in ensuring safe and effective healthcare delivery.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, who gained valuable knowledge about the integration of technology, data management, and patient safety in pharmaceutical sciences. The lectures not only broadened academic understanding but also inspired attendees to explore career opportunities in these specialized fields.
